Hotpot experimento at home!

Nope. No rain today! 35 degree weather on the other hand. But chef CJ was in the mood to cook up a storm and the storm for the day is.. HOT POT!

It takes two to dance. A good hot pot experience must be accompanied by great dipping sauces. All made at home!

From the top, clockwise:

1. chopped coriander leaves and spring onions

2. sha cha paste from Taiwan (ref: http://www.thetabletopcook.com/shacha-sauce.html)

3. hot olive oil drizzled over chilli flakes

4. sesame paste from Taiwan

Cracked a couple o' raw eggs to dip in the beef slices later on.

CJ started to lit the charcoal since late noon. Almost tempted to use it for grilling instead. Those burning hot black chunks became the source of boiling up these deliciousness cooked with home made miso soup.

The meatballs were home made too! Basically mashed up the minced beef and rolled them into giant brown marbles of goodness.

Nothing can be more satisfying than having good beef slices in a hot pot. Look out for Lee's Frozen Food, Hartamas if you are keen to get good quality meat at decent prices : https://www.facebook.com/LeesFrozenFood/ . It has become our regular spot to stock up meat.

Burps. Guilty as charged - for swallowing up 3 bowls of delicious home made hot pot dinner. Experimento success! Now opened for small scale hotpot party with close friends.
