Cloudy cloudy morning. But we started early at 6 am with dawn prayer meeting at The Lord's Covenant Church. After prayers, a couple of us headed downtown while the streets of KL are still in slumber.
It is rare indeed for me to have such heavy meals in the morning. Even more so.. Ba Ku Teh!
Some vegs, to ease our guilt.
Some foo chuk skin in herbal soup, additional "ease" to our guilt before the superstar arrives.
The. Superstar. Had. Arrived. Boiling, fragrant aroma of herbalicious goodness. Hidden underneath the boiling soup, crazy ass big chunky pork ribs. So chunky, it is borderline barbaric. BURPS.
No kidding. This was the SMALLEST piece of the lot. We were all in caveman mode. The great thing about starting this meal early - you get the freshest meat, literally. Not a single foul smell of old meat, which gets a little too pungent sometimes in places that serve lousy meat.
Their bakuteh specialty focuses on the herbal soup based style, hence their claypot pork slices were not bad, but not the best I had. If you are making your way here for the first time, channel all your caveman energy towards the bakuteh, soup style first.
Total damage for 7 of us were RM 180, each person pays RM 25+.
